New ‘Buffy’ DVD set announced

Twentieth Century Fox has announced plans to release a repackaged version of its Buffy the Vampire Slayer – The Complete Series DVD boxset.

The set will contain all seven seasons of Joss Whedon’s cult series starring Sarah Michelle Gellar as a young woman destined to protect the world from vampires and other demons.

The new collection will be available in the US on October 12 with a list price of $199.98, reports TV Shows on DVD.

The packaging will reportedly be wider than the complete series set released in 2006. It will also feature new cover art.

Sarah designs a Holiday card for World’s Child Holiday

We are really excited to be a part of World Child Project’s 2009 Holiday Party! This Wednesday, December 9th, guests who attend will have the opportunity to make holiday cards, using Soolip materials, to be sent to children in orphanages in Mexico. Plus, we sent out Soolip Card Making Kits to a bunch of celebrities and their cards will be up for auction. Some of the celebrity designed and autographed cards received so far are from Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jennifer Aniston, Barry Watson and Zack Galifianakis, with more arriving daily! There will also be a silent auction for fantastic items like an all-inclusive trip for two couples to Turks and Caicos, American Idol tickets and designer pieces from the likes of Jimmy Choo, Diane Von Furstenberg, Cynthia Vincent and others! Latin singer Beto Cuevas will be performing as well and the cocktails and hors d’oeuvers will be going around all evening. It’s a festive way to celebrate the holidays and give a part of yourself to someone less fortunate! JOSS TO DIRECT ‘GLEE’

Well this isn’t really Sarah news, but Glee is my favorite show on TV right n0w, and we all love Joss

I hadn’t been warming to Glee already, this for sure would’ve begun defrosting me: Dollhouse-keeper Joss Whedon has agreed to direct one of the back nine episodes that Fox just ordered.

Turns out, the genius who gave us not only the “Once More, With Feeling” musical episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer but also Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog is a big fan of Ryan Murphy’s new phenom. So when Twentieth (the studio behind Glee) approached him about the gig, pretty much his only reservation was scheduling.

“Joss directed one of the great musical episodes in the history of television on Buffy,” gushes Murphy, “so this is a great, if unexpected, fit. I’m thrilled he’ll be loaning us his fantastic groundbreaking talent.”

And there’s no reason to panic, Dollhouse fans: I’m told the auteur’s moonlighting in no way, shape or form suggests that that show is a goner. He’d most likely tackle the side job after Eliza Dushku and Co. have wrapped their 13-episode order.

So whad’ya think? Good news or great? And any bets on how soon the petition will be started to get Sarah Michelle Gellar a bit part?

SARAH GIVES BIRTH TO A BABY GIRL

Sarah Michelle Prinze and husband Freddie Prinze Jr. are parents, PEOPLE has learned exclusively.

The couple “welcomed their daughter Charlotte Grace Prinze on Saturday, Sept. 19,” says a rep for the actress. “The family is over the moon.”

This is the first child for the couple, who revealed that they were expecting back in April.

I’m in love with the name!

Congrats to Sarah & Freddie!
